December in Review

To start off, I have been a huge slacker in the blogging world as of late. With the holiday's, December was a ridiculously busy month, so instead of a bunch of individual mini posts about the happenings in December this is a quick recap of everything that went on.

First things first, on December 13th (which was Friday the 13th I might add), I got engaged, to the love of my life and I couldn't be happier! I couldn't have found a more perfect man for me than Blake. Blake planned an early birthday celebration just for me because we were going to be spending my actual birthday at my parents house. This was the perfect disguise for Blake to make the whole day about me!

It was great to spend the entire day with him, he brought me flowers, we went to a movie of my choice, and out to eat. Towards the end of the night we went up to a beautiful look out spot over looking Utah Valley, and I got to open all my presents! My last present were these really cool gloves, called smart touch gloves. When you are wearing them you can still use the touch screen on your phone which is so convenient! When I tried on the gloves I found a ring inside waiting for me! I of course said yes and I think I then proceeded to go into emotional shock for the remainder of the night. I am thrilled to be married to Blake Larson on March 15th! Honestly, that day can't come soon enough!

Next up was my birthday, the big 21! Thanks to the Larson's, Blake, and my family, my birthday ended up being a week long event! Starting on the 8th of December, the Larson's were thoughtful enough to have a dinner and birthday party for me. They are so awesome and always make me feel very welcome and part of their family. I Then I had my fake birthday on the 13th where Blake surprised me by popping the question, and last but not least my actual birthday on the 15th!

On my birthday I went up to my parents house in Morgan and got to spend the whole day with them along with my two sisters, brother in-law, and little brother. It is always so good to spend time with all my family, it doesn't happen often enough. As strange as it is 2013 will be the last year I will spend my birthday without my twin since he got home from his mission at the very first of January 2014. I can't wait till next year when I get to celebrate it with him once again!

Finally CHRISTMAS! Christmas time is always a great time of the year. Blake and I went to my parents house for Christmas Eve. We did the annual Puzzle (it was Charlie Brown themed and surprisingly hard), played games, and made homemade pizza . Unfortunately we didn't watch the usual trilogy like past years. We had a hard time trying to find all the Toy Story movies, and we are  quickly running out of trilogy ideas! It was so good to spend time with all my family and create unforgettable memories.

On Christmas day we opened presents with my family and it was fun to see everyones reactions to their gifts. Around Christmas time it is almost impossible not to realize how truly blessed we are. Then in the early afternoon Blake and I drove down to Bountiful to open presents with his family.

It really was a different experience for me because with my family we are all adults and we have one niece who is one years old, and she doesn't quite grasp the concept of Christmas yet. Whereas at Blake's parents house there are more children. Blake has a couple nephews and one niece who are a little older, and definitely understand the concept of santa and new toys! :)

Since my brother Matt was still out on his mission, with two weeks left to go, he got to Skype with my family. Thanks to modern day technology I just face-timed my mom's phone and still got to see him! The things we can do in the world are really crazy these days.

That is Blake and me on the little phone screen!

December is always the best way to end the year, by celebrating with those closest to you. Here is to 2014 and all the amazing adventures we have to come!
